Does coolant flow from top to bottom?

I'm just curious to find out what direction the coolant flows. Does it come out the top, run down through the radiator and then back into the block through the bottom hose? Just trying to figure out the overheating thing still. Thanks

goes in the rad thruogh the top and exits the bottom, and into the engine.

Nope.

If the coolant travelled from the top of the rad to the engine, then every time you hit the gas, even with the sys full, the water pump would suck air. By pushing the coolant up and away from the engine this is no longer a concern.

Amur, I fail to see how it could suck air into the water pump if you had the system full of water.. that just plain makes no sense.

You're right. Blame fuzzy memory and a brain that should have gone 2 bed over an hour ago instead of playing a sub simulation.

I meant that you're right about it probably not sucking air if the system is full.
