ok i bought the FC and the guy told me it is a C's short shifter. it feels good since i never felt what the stock shifter feels like! but my problem is that i can't get the stock shifter to sit right on it. it doesn't grab the thread the stock shifter **** is way to big for the short shifter. does anyone else have that problem? i don't want to go buy some ugly **** from advance auto!

Do you got the nifty adapter thing? Its a little nut that goes under the shifter.

On a stock shifter there is a nut to tighten against the shifter.

You need that.

Can you just pull the thing straight off? If so, chances are it needs a S5 ****, and you've got a S4.

I posted this on NP, so I'll throw it over here as well.

See if a Miata **** will work well on it... if you pay more that $5 before shipping for one, you're being ripped off.

S4 cars use an M12 thread pattern on their shifters and *****, all short shifters that I know of for the FC use the S5 M10 thread pattern. I'll bet you're trying to put the bigger S4 **** on the smaller S5 shifter.

I've got the C's shifter. I have a very hard time getting the car into reverse with it. Not a very well done piece of work if you ask me. Not too happy with it and may pull it off and go back to the stock one.
