Exclamation does anyone autocross their FC in E-stock?

I'm planning on starting my campaign to become competitve in my region, if anyone has any tips, tricks, or experiences to share, do so here!

It'll be tough to beat the 1.6 Miatas, no doubt.

stock FC non-turbos are ES. I bumped up to CSP once I did my suspension and wheels. Turbos are in BS, and yes they are a bit outmatched compared to boxsters and such.

This site should answer all your class questions.

Someday I am going to get the Miatas, and their little dog, too! I have done two autocrosses in my base 87. The only change I have made thus far is going to the 195/60 yokohama AVS ES 100 tires on the 14" rim. You cannot change rim sizes in stock. Theroetically, I could make the whole car a gxl and have the limited slip and 15" rims, but I would have to change everything over. I do not see why I cannot go to the larger rims, but that is the rules.

Ya, that's the first mistake people make when auto-xing for the first time. They think the more stuff they do to the car, the better off they'll do. In actuality, they will get stomped 'cause they end up in CSP or SM2.

yeah, my 88 GTU is going back to stock specs.. basically the reason is because I can't afford to spend money on mods, and I want to be competitive as well.

Do you guys think I can be e-stock competitive with Falken Azenis 205s on 15x6.5 wheels? I have no PS, no AC, LSD, and a racing clutch.

Remember, you can modify your exhaust and put new struts in your stock class car. And if you want to get a spare set of rims, you can run r-compound dot-legal tires in the stock classes. I think you can also change the front roll bar.

hehe...try ASP. that's where i got bumped to after i replaced my clutch w/ an ACT one. now i get killed by Porsches and Vipers and Vettes.
since you are still in stock class, mught as well get a set of cheap 14"s and slap some race rubber on them. trust me you will do pretty well. tires are the single most important thing(next to skill) in autoX.

ps- if you are gonna spend ANY money...it's all in the tires. once you learn how to "outdrive" your car then you can worry about those other mods.

General rule of thumb...

A set of race tires equals about 2 seconds.

don't even bother with tires before your first autox, you'll destroy them.

Just go and have fun.

I've autocrossed before, but never in a stock class..

I don't think I'll get Victoracers or Hoosiers because I understand if they aren't used all the time, they harden up. I may have some time in between autocrosses, so maybe Azenis are the easiest thing for me to do.

G2s are e stock now? WTF? I need to revert back to stock and take that crowd on now, what cake.
The G2 really really sucked in c stock. As far as CSP It can if tuned right with all the best parts be a potential car in csp. You will need race tires though. I can't stress enough the importance of race or competion tires on our cars. They are crap without them. A really kick *** car in CSP though is the CRX ealy model. Those cars rip! In autocrossing, the smaller the better.

Today i raced in ASP, i had a set of hoosiers on my car, with just a 3" turbo back system, and i beat a FD by 2 full seconds, and there was only a handful of cars overall that beat my time.
