It's probably cheaper and faster to go to a muffler shop and get it done.

What model FC do you have? I have 2 midpipes that replace the main cat but they fit my wife's, now my daily driver Auto FC.

I've got one for an 87 GXL I could let you have for $40. Shipping wouldn't be too bad either cause we're relatively close. Never used it. Let me know!

Just gut the precats and leave the main cat. Otherwise you're auxiliary ports won't open. You can wire them open, but you lose gas mileage and some low end power. Ask me how I know.

The auxiliary ports will not open. They are activated by backpressure in the main cat which is passed along via the split air pipe. With no back pressure to open the ports you are losing 10-25 hp (depending on who you ask) over 3800 rpms. You could wire them open, but the above stated will happen.
