We are pretty familiar with him, everyone loves his products, but the prices to import them into the US are too high. Add to that the high cost of the products themselves 2K for a bumper, and it kinda puts a lot of people at a disadvantage. If he had a place here in the US selling his products (like a licensed reseller w/molds) there'd be money to be made.

We'd like a complete bodykit for $2500 US, but they want $4500 which is a bit too much.
I might convert to a run racing kit eventually though
The knightsport kits are great too.

We just had some guests from Ashikaga, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan stay for about a week. I made sure to ask them directions to RE-A just in case I ever go to Japan. It's about the last exit before the airport, right?

Yes i know him. I visit with him about 2 times a year and stop at his shop in narita/chiba 4 - 6 times a year
I 1997 I had him sign my RX7 Hyper Rev book now I keep it in picture frame.
and I was going to buy the 4WD 20B FC from him about 1 year ago but the tube frame is getting so rusted I was worried about if it would hold up for racing.
anyway I didnt buy the car.
What do you think of him

RE Amemiya is the best, I'll go to his shop someday. There definately needs to be a U.S. distributor of Amemiya parts, importing the products are way out of most people price range. I don't think they know how much Americans wants their stuff. And a 20B 4WD FC? Are there no limits to this guys awesome-ness!?!

Initially, of course anyone who be awe-struck at his cars...
After a while, his stuff ends up being overpriced and "gaudy" - I guess the price you pay for trying to stand out of the crowd.  His "project" vehicles are always amusing, but you get used to the novelty after a while.
I'm a bit disgusted that he endorses that SEV crap that doesn't do anything for your car...
IMO - flames welcome!

SEV is this "strip of metal thing" that you "apply" onto your fuel lines, mufflers, and shocks to make them "perform better".  He's got dyno charts of +20hp gains just by slapping this crap onto the car!

Alright still don't know what a SEV is but what happened to that 4WD FC? It looked so nice in the mag but then it is trashed. Why would you do that to such a car?! 87gtr, how much did he want for it?
