hey i was wondering if they make aftermarket tail lights for the 1988 Non turbo GTU? i cant seem to find them. if anyone knows where to get them please tell me

What's wrong with the stock lights?

 

just keep the stock lights. a good set of s4 tails are getting harder and harder to find, but if you want to upgrade get the s5 tails.

There is no excuse for what happened in this thread. NONE! The original poster just asked a question and instead of giving helpful advice you all just threw in your worthless opinions and flames. Ok fine... There is nowhere to get them... The lights you are asking about aren't in existance... Contact APC and ask them if they will make some provided there's enough interest... Is that better?

 

Yah by the way there is a little search button that you could of used becuase i know there are millions of these threads and s5 taillights are the best your going to get

you could chrome paint them yourself, or have them chromed. :P

 

best thing to do would be to get the chrome tail lights form another car (i.e. civic, integra, mustang, accord, etc.) and mold them onto your rx7. that would look awesome! then then put on an integra or civic front bumper and lights. better yet! the JDM front bumper! MAD TYTE YO!!!

 

I'm not sure exactly what's being asked nor has been said so far... are you talking about choming the black trim on the S4 tails? if so My vote would be to paint them your self if you can. I've had dirtbike plastics "chromed" = "Plastic Electroplating" before to look really nice they did for about the first lap... way too much for how long...short the look lasted on a bike. might be nicer on a car. here http://www.medibix.com/CompanySearch...=16365&stype=i

if your talking about euro taillights, then NO, they dont sell any. But you can obviously fabricate some your self out of anything really. Some guy on here took s5 tailights and put led's around all of circle lights insiede the light unit and it looked pritty good, but if you want euro tail's like i think your talking about, you will have to tear your tail lights apart, replace the colored plastic with clear plastic, and line the inside of the lights with some type of alluminum finish(alluminum foil, spray paint, alluminum dash board kit sticky alluminum sheeting, ect...) and then just make sure all of the bulbs are the colors of the plastic that you removed from the front of them and you have clear euros.

This is just a thought, I have never done this, but if i had the will to, i would do it in some manner as this. O and this is assuming you have an s4.

 

A bit of a clarification: "Euro" and "Altezza" tail lights are not the same thing. The RX-7s in Europe came with factory "Euro" lights that included the necessary fog lamp. I used to have a set on my RX-7 before it was rear-ended. The typical ricer "Altezza" lights that people commonly (and for some baffling reason) call "Euro" are not available for the 2nd gun but are available for the FD.

No pics unfortunatly. I only had then for a few months since shortly after they were installed I was rear ended.

Acutally Arron he can purchase s5 clear lens from "Canada" i wish i had proof of this, i remeber somebody had a Fc from canada with the tails. I think ICEMAN can verify this.

My suggestion you keep that S4 original taillights or buy the S5 taillights.

s4 during daylight = pwns

it's a old pic, i now have the JDM-spec taillights

the S5 tails look like the S5 JDM lights, they are only a little bit shorter for the bigger license plate here... and they are not symmetric... left white light for reverse light and right red light for the fog lamp!

 

If there's something wrong with your tails, just get them replaced. GO to a local yard and pick new ones up. They look on all 7s, because they are the same. Don't break the mold, just enhance it. Instead of giving your car a full-out boob job, just give her a little nip and tuck. Get rid of the sagginess, make them perky again, you know?

 

Wow how peaceful this thread has become since I went to work this morning must have missed some good sh*t. Good thing I didn't post anything before I left! Anyway I am working on a set of LED s5's that once complete, I will start a thread and submit pics. (all you s5 tail light junkies need not worry it's reversable) As far as the origional post goes, welcome to the forum, and if you are looking for that type of look on your car then you will meet alot of opposition on this forum, and probably make no friends, then again since the thread cleanup, warnings and bans you seem to be doing preety good. Anyone for some tea?

 

I haven't seen a set of clear S5 tails but I have seen a semi clear set for an S4 but I have no idea where to get them at.

 

Notice that I live in Canada...Our taillights are the same as any North American lights.

 

There was a guy who used to make S4 tails that were clear... There's also some S5 clear tails floating around... I have some pics of them at my house... They look like *** though... The S4's actually didn't look bad though... Would be sweet on a white car... When I get back to my own computer I'll try to dig up some pics...
