the ECU sends the signal to the trailing coil, the trailing coil sends the tach signal to the tachometer. from the tachometer it goes nowhere, the origination engine RPM signal goes through the ECU from the CAS.

You can always pick up the Tach signal from the Trailing or leading coil Bullet connector. That is how you can get a signal to an aftermarket Tach,if that is what you are doing.

Pin/wire 1X on your series four RX. That's 1X of the ECU plug.

From the White/Green wire. Page 40 of the wiring schematic.

What does your gas gauge do/not do?

There is nothing currently wrong with my fuel gauge. I am wanting to put a aftermarket fuel gauge in my car. After speaking with sharingan he said that there is no aftermarket gauge that reads the same values as the fc fuel level sending unit so a aftermarket gauge will never work/read correctly. Is this true?

I always attached the tach signal wire to the ig - on the back of the gauge cluster.

If I said it, then its true.

The one caveat being, there are some aftermarket fuel level gauges w/adjustable senders, that could probably be made to read "pretty close". However they do not come in 45mm and will not work in you modified gauge cluster.

Just follow the writeup in the thread and stop trying to be difficult.
