Lightbulb do i really need this air pump?

I have an 88 n/a and I want to get rid of the smog stuff can anyone give some ideas ? I can turn a wrench but I havent had a rotary before. Thanks

88 is an s4, the pump is only used for emissions. Aux ports are handled by the exhaust, so there won't need to be a fix there. S5s are different there.

yes you can remove the air pump, and since you want to remove the air pump, remove the air control valve also, it is useless without the air pump. use the search button at the very top of the page to find out how to.

You CAN remove it but only if you don't have the stock catalytic converters (and others?) on there.
