Do I need my air pump? (S4)

Ok guys I am curious, I will be keeping my aux ports, and wil be using the exhaust dip tube to open them, my only question is do I need to keep the air pump for any purpose to the aux ports?

I dont have emissions and dont want to have it if I dont have to.. so whats the call?

can I keep it or can I remove it?

Dave

If you take out the ACV, all the air pump will do is (as My5Ababy said last thread) is act as a an idler belt pulley. If you remove it, you may have water pump slipping problems, so look into the pineapple racing yoohoo belt, guitar junkie's conversion pulleys, or dual alternator pulleys.

i would keep it on. its not hurting anything and you can have belt problems if you take it off. i used it when i made me electric 5th and 6th port actuator, so i didnt have to use a separate air pump.

Another option (better IMHO) is to relocate the alt to the drivers side of the engine. Pinapple Racing sells a kit to do that. You can't have PS or AC, but those are for wusses anyway. It'll give you more belt on the water pump without reducing the contact on the other pullies that much, and you don't have to worry about getting new pullies, or finding two belts exactly the same length.
