Do I HAve To Use A Block Off Plate When Removing Air Pump?

I want to remove my airpump. I am wiring my 5th and 6th ports open, and i gutted all my cats. Do I really need to block it off? 1991 N/A

The only thing you need to block after removing the airpump is the hole in the ACV where the airpump outlet tube went. I just used a cork to block that hole. Also the hole on intake elbow that went the airpump can be blocked off with a cork. Pretty high-tech huh?
