do I buy this car?

Hey guys whats up, I need some opinions. There is an 88 gtu for sale near me. Its black with grey interior. interior is in great shape and exterior is fair. The guy says the engine has 35k on it and the body 153k. it has a pacesetter exhaust and a header of unknown manufacturing. It also has four brand new yokohamas and the kid thinks it has a chip in the ecu. I doubt pretty much that its chipped or that it has only 35k on the motor. His ad says "possible blown apex seal". He says it leaks anti-freeze from behind the rear rotor, but he seems to know little about 7's. I dont think the seals are blown but maybe a water jacket? shifter bushings are also shot. The guys asking 1300 firm in NY. do you think the car might be worth it?

Well I am not a expert on rotaries, But I just bought two of them both for 1600 each...... and they both ran mildly smooth...one needed a tuneup and ht other new il cooling lines.... I would see if hell lower the price a bit. I bought mine in California, and were pretty hard to find and still got them for 1600 a piece. And they both run, STRONG!

water seal, just talk him down and drive it, you will just have to carry antifreeze all the time and its gonna stink, dont beat on it...in other words, buy one in good shape, you can find one thats in nice shape for 2000, try to get an 89-91, and attempt to get Turbo II...

I already have my own RX7, I'm thinking of picking this one up to make a profit, either a cash profit or a parts profit. I'll sell the stuff I dont need and keep the stuff I like.

i checked out the car today and its blowing bubbles into the coolant. I told him i'd give him 700 and he countered with a 1000. I havent called him back yet, so maybe I'll offer him 850

thats what i'm thinking, He started at 1500 according to the sign on his car. It was listed at 1300 on parts trader. He just told me 1000, hopefull it's only a matter of time for 800!
