DIY adjustable camber link?

I'm wanting to make my factory rear sublink adjustable, ie http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm

So far I know that I need to cut the sublink in half, get each end threaded and get a threaded sleeve to link the two ends. What I need to know is how much does the link need to be shortened/lengthened (my rear camber is -3.06 / -3.01)

The factory sublink is 10" long(excluding the end mounting points), whats lengths do the aftermarket adjustable rear camber links shorten and extend to?

Cheers

Brendan

So if I made the link so it was adjustable from 10" to 6" in length would that take out enough negative camber?

The sublink doesn't weigh much so I'm wondering if it is a solid bar or is it hollow?

this is great. please keep us posted on your progress. I need to get rid of my rear camber as well, but I've only got $80 right now, and there's a lot of stuff I need to get before the rear camber adjuster.

so bump!

It's hollow. I think I made mine an inch shorter overall when I did it. What I did was cut a few inches out of the center, tap both sides, and then made a threaded center section.

K, I've just gotten back from overseas and am gonna continue on making the rear sublink adjustable.

A few other things I need to know first though is how much strain gets put on the sublink while driving? I've cut the link in half and walls of the link are only 4mm thick, so once i get the inside of it threaded the walls will be weakened somewhat... is this anything to worry about? I hear of peoples sublinks getting bent, how does this happen?
