My vert smells a little like gear oil and a little like an 80's/90's Japanese car. There are lots of 'fragrances' that volatilize out of the dash and door vinyl. These vapors add to the haze that forms on the inside of the windshield. The smells are pretty distinctive and are tied to the original plastic/vinyl supplier's formula.
FWIW, one thing that Hyundai tried to do in the last 8 years or so is to duplicate the vinyl/carpet/plastic smells of Honda. Before this effort, Hyundai's smelled slightly 'off' not quite right. Toyota/Honda/Mazda owners didn't like the Hyundai fragrance. The smell upgrade has been pretty successful in helping Hyundai in gaining acceptance from traditional Japanese car buyers in the US.

AH THE HAZE!!
I thought I was the only one, my coupe gets it BAD, especially when I used to leave it out in the sun.
A few cleanings with window cleaner and window towels gets it pretty good, use a alcohol based window cleaner.

White viniger on a cloth or diluted in water works great for cleaning the windows, but then you might want to clean them with the spray on window cleaner to get the viniger smell out.
oils evaporate out of vinal over time in the sun. This is why dashes and door panels that have been sitting in the sun crack. it is also why you get the haze on your windows. I have found that 303 is the best to seal vinal and prevent the haze. The 303 is a little more expensive but it is well worth it in my opinion.
