Disconnecting Break Booster

Just wondering if anyone is not using their break booster and what the effect is if any?

I have a 1990 TII and I'm replacing the UIM, but it would appear the there is a difference b/w the 89 UIM and the 90 as the 89 is missing the nipple that my break booster used to go to and its the only spare I have.

I might just tap it with a new fitting, but I wanted to see if there were any problems with just capping it off other than the heavier break peddle feel.

that manifold could be a Jspec manifold. they used a banjo fitting to hook up the air line.

The system isn't really designed to run without it, your pedal will be WAY heavier than you expect and the car won't stop so well.

OK, so where is this "JDM Banjo bolt"? Is it on the LIM?

It should still work if I relocate the VAC source right?

It will work if you relocate the source, but the j-spec one should be a banjo fitting on the back of the UIM/LIM area.

yea bad idea been doin braks for many years and it will get hard as a rock it will feel like when your car is off and it will not slow the car down for n-e thing

JDM had a banjo bolt and a steel line on the LIM, what i did was just drilled and tapped the UIM backside and put in a brass barb fitting for the booster line.

Karack, that was exactly what I was planning on doing. Although, I believe that I may have found the JDM banjo as well. It looks like my boost gauge is running off of it. I think it might be easier to just relocate the boost gauge and run the breakbooster to the JDM spot.
