Disconnected Wire...quick but hard question!

Like the topic says I was changing my oil and coming down right by the fuel filter is a rather large wiring harness. Split off of this harness is 2 wires coming out together RIGHT beside the fuel filter one is a redish colored wire that plugs into another wire running towards the front of the car. The other is a black wire with a single prong connector that isnt connected to anything and definately looks like it should be. I cant find anything in my FSM about it and I cant find any other wire for it to plug into . So I was wondering if any of you guys might have run across this wire and know where it goes. Thanks!

James

Is it female, male, or the screw type? If it is the screw type, it needs to grounded to the chassis. Mine is underneath one of the bolts for the clutch cylinder. Hope this helps.

ok i just checked again and the red wire that is plugged in is the one that goes to the bottom of my oil pan. The wire im talking about is the other wire that splits out of the wiring harness with the oil sensor wire. Oh and i just ruled out it being my neutral,5th gear, or reverse wire because i just looked and all of those are connected...you could probable see the wire im talking about by just sticking your head under the driver's side of the car and looking up around your fuel filter. Its right there

The description makes me think condensor, single black wire, white male clip.

Look around under the brake MC or on the top of your clutch slave cylinder for a small black reactangle with a wire coming out of it.

scathcart nailed it. The same thing happened on my car and I had a time figuring where the wire went. It's a Red/Yellow wire covered in black sheilding. BTW, that's the Alternator Harness

the connector isnt white...its black. you guys still might be right because i never used my a/c so i dont know if it worked or not. And its not the red/yellow, black shielded wire because that wire is going to be oil sensor thing on the oil pan, is that clear enough. I know im very confusing but im trying to explain it the best i can.

off subject me, scathcart, and runningdeer all have the same avatar...great minds think alike...lol

oh yeah i forgot to tell you guys that my oil pressure guage works fine so its nothing to do with the oil sensor. but its the wire that splits out of the harness with the oil sensor wire
