Direct Injection Question

Direct Injection Question
Does anyone know if direct injection would work on a rotary? I saw writeup in Hot Rod(I know, different stuff altogether) but I was just wondering if anyone had worked this out for a rotary yet? I think it would be a cool concept, but I just don't quite have the knowledge to do it from the ground up. If anyone has seen it, let me know.

Stratified charge direct injection rotary engines have existed at least since the 1970s.

No kits are available, and if they were available they would require tearing apart the engine and installing custom rotor housings. If everything goes well you should be able to buy a 16X engine in 2011, so start saving your pennies now for what will not be a cheap engine system.
