wel for putt putting around town here is what i have noticed:
ground all wet and slippery. No LSD...one wheel spin out occasionally. LSD...more likely to fishtail.
shrug...my car has no LSD, and personally, I wouldn't look into getting one unless i decided to start going to the track regularly. if you really wanna build up your car then get an LSD. if you just wanna get a bit more performance out of it i'd spend the money on other things like intake/exhaust and some suspension goodies. what do you plan to do with the car?

I just got a Torsen installed in my vert. The difference is quite amazing...for one thing I like to drift, and with an open diff that's nearly impossible. Now with the LSD I can get the tail out so much easier than with an open diff.
I know I should've gotten a clutch type for dori dori, but I came across an unbelievably good deal for the torsen (+4.3 rear) that I couldn't refuse. So there, Torsen works too!
Also during touge you'll notice that there's a difference...exit speed is significantly improved, and no more inner tyre spinning out of a turn. The only problem is that with the LSD I noticed that I tend to plow a lot more than before while entering a corner - so I guess I will now have to adopt a slow in fast out approach.
All in all, get a LSD if you like to drive your car hard. However, if you don't plan on doing any "spirited driving", getting a LSD is quite pointless.

Or you can get a deal like I did, and get it free
I hate you, I mean really anyone who gets free LSD and I don't I hate
Well I guess it is kinda OK becasue my car came fastory with a clutch type LSD, but it is half way worn out. So when you get on two majorly different traction grounds it is just like an open differintial. But on pavement both wheels still spin

I can get a torsen diff out of a Miata at my junkyard for $25 . As soon as it stops raining Ill get right on it While we are on this subject, what all is involved in swapping LSDs? I am planning on putting the torsen into a GTUs rear end that I have. Is it just pulling the one out and dropping the new one in? Or should I need to take it to a shop and have it done?

I hate you I hate you I hate you ......
Are you sure it is a TORSEN, is the engine a 1.8 liter, with a 5 speed manual tranny. Does it have a leather steering wheel, or is the interior leather. And it also must be 94+
If it doesn't have those things it most likly isn't a TORSEN. I went on the miata forums (guys driving highschool girls cars hahaha...) and asked them whick ones had TORSEN, and that is what they said.

I have been told that it is a straight forward bolt in, but I think that you may have to have the drive shaft either shortened or lengthened, but that is just a guess.

Like I said it has to have the 1.8 liter engine, leather wrapped steering wheel (factory), and it can also have leather interior, but I am not positive if it has to have it, I will go back and check the miata forum, and see exactly what it must have.
