i have an 88t2 that came with ps and the rack has a blue sticker on it. the other day i went to a junkyard and got another ps rack and it has a red sticker on it. can anyone tell me the difference between the two racks or did mazda just get color happy with stickers thanks

 

Why don't you look at the two or look in FSM?

I think there was different PS, not sure if its S4/S5 or feature related tho

there are 3 different racks.

FB01 is manual, 20:1 ratio

FB78 is the 86-88 PS rack and also used in the 89-91 upper models

FC01 is the 89-91 engine speed sensitive PS, used in the lower end models

i recall most of the stickers being orangey, but i'd go by the number

ok i just checked the one i got and the one in my car is FB78 but the one that i got from the junkyard is FB05 does anyone know which one this is then?

 

count the number of lines that go to it.

a 2 line rack is the 17:1 a 3 line rack is the 15:1

if they look the exact same, they're the same rack.
