which differential's could i put on my car?

are there any other vehicles i can take one out of and put in my car? i'm looking for an open dif, so that i can weld it and make it a 2-way..
i drive an 88GXL, so right now i have the 1.5, but i heard that you van't weld the lsd

personally imho don't weld your diff unless this is a designated track only car. its not only dangerous but costly on tires and just attention getting from cops when you going through a gas station. but if you must now you can just take a open diff from another fc. they are not that hard to find. if you need one i can get you one for 120 plus shipping on the pumpkin only.

yeah i have 2 cars so i don't have to drive it everyday, i kinda use them both as dd's so i can't say it's not one.. but i drift, so you seem to know quite alot about difs, so what would the pluss be to welding an open dif to have a 2way, when right now i have a 1.5 way lsd?

I knew a guy who welded his Differential..He Made a Turn on Top of a hill, the Back Axle and Wheel CAME RIGHT OFF THE CAR!..it rolled down hill, and into the Canal!..it Was Freakin Priceless!..he Drive home on 3 Wheels!..(please don't weld your Diff,I don't want to Run over your Rear wheel if you are turning around in front of me!..in other words..NOT safe!).Get a KAAZ,or somethin.

i would just get a kaaz 1.5 if your going to dd your car wether all the time or not. but if your going to weld an open diff def make sure the shop that does it knows what they are doing. if you do it wrong then your rear diff WILL explode for the force of not being able to slip a little in a turn. imho ther is no plus side to a welded diff. your on rx7club the the 240 forum they seem to love a welded diff. if you need to find a good shop for it go on there not here.

no you can't weld an lsd... i come from a world of lifted trucks (37" tires and welded rear diffs) lil more noise than our cars... i have an s13 with a kaaz and an s13 with a welded diff and the kaaz is nice (2way) but mide as well eb welded with how i drive its never open. i'm going stock 1.5 way on my rx7 due to dd the car. as far as im concerned if you drift a ton welding is better due to that i don't have to rebuild the welded diff. i'm practicing (parking lots) 3-4 nights a week and having once a month at least comps and have to rebuild the kaaz at least every other month. just food for thought.
