Differential seal and bushing

Hi,

Last friday i had a little incident and it appears that i spun out on the street...

I have a big oil leak from the differential.
So from the look of it and from what i heard, it would be that due to the differential bushings being worn out, during the spin, the seal between the driveshaft and the differential has moved, hence the oil leak.

I've always had a little oil leak at this location so i want to change the seal. My local mazda dealer sucks and is asking me 60€ to have it delivered at home...
So i'm thinking about buying another one but i'm not sure about it...

the cheapest for me would be this:
http://www.oscaro.com/joint-torique-...-1476142-630-p
and i also found this in us:
http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/199...erential-seal/

If someone knows where i can find the mazda part number, that would help me to be sure it's the good one.

Second thing, i've bought the hyperflex energy masterkit and waiting for it, but i don't know if it includes the differential bushings...

I believe you're referring to the "pinion seal".

N/A differential pinion seal

TII differential pinion seal

I'm not sure. in the service manual it's only called "oil seal". it's the item 14 page M-26 (http://www.cochran-racing.com/FSM/s5...rear_Axles.pdf)

I see what you're saying. It shows how to replace the "oil seal" on M-33. I believe that the pinion seal is what you're referring to. If it is leaking from where you say it is... Then it is the pinion seal. Check the links that I posted for you. I'm not sure how much it will cost you to get them from Mazdatrix, seeing that you're in France, but I assume it will take some time. You can even give them a phone call at: (562)-426-7960 This is their phone number for ordering parts and other general information.

but it seems a bit complicated to order from europe...

if you give them the part number, they should at least be able to order it for you. it will save you the high shipping costs buying from mazdatrix.

Alright. We're on the same page... Just different images. Just making sure you got the right part. Are you replacing this seal yourself?

basically i'm changing the seel and the diff bushings (by mazdaspeed stiffer ones).

normally i'll do it with one of my friends that works in an auto centre and has all the tools possible.

The plan is to remove the diff
change the seal and bushings
change the oil and reinstall

then I have my suspension bushings to change for urethane and install my new coilovers... then i hope my chassis will be slightly improved

Putting bushings in takes a long while. I've done a lot of work on my car and I can say that was my least favorite thing I did. Dropping the differential by yourself is also not very fun.

If you're doing the pinion seal get new bearings and a crush tube as well. Do it right do it once.

You'll need a drill hammer and punch to take out old bushings. A press will help you put them in.

Take your time w it and have a friend help.
