A Different TID Mod Idea

http://www.turbohoses.com/45%20Degree.htm

For about ~$90 US you can build a custom 3" TID with a 3?2.25" transition to the turbo.

The 45º bend is $50 and made of 2-ply fiberglass reinforced silicone.

Add in the nipples and it gets to be a little expensive. I may just buy the transitions unless someone knows where I can them cheaper.

I just made my TID mod and it cost me about $20 not including the air filter. Its 3" all the way with a transition to the turbo at the end.

Why would you waste your money on something like that?

Personally, I'm going 45º, 3" aluminum, I came across this stuff looking for silicone couplers and transitions. I can't imagine why that 45º bend is $50! I posted it for those that like that stuff--to each his own.

$10 for 45º, 12" aluminumized steel tube, $10 for rubber couplers, $12 for brass, spring-loaded checkvalve, 2 clamps for $1, 3/4 to 1/2" fitting was $3 and a free 6" length of 3/4" hose. TOTAL $36 and the car runs/idles PERFECTLY. Fixed all vacuum leaks, and can now hold idle at 750 pulling 18" Hg. Added an extra pound of boost as an added bonus.

Here's the fitment of the DIY BOV and TID. I'm going to pull the stickers off the couplers and spray the pipe with aluminum enamel paint. I think I'll spray the BOV to match.
