A different Power Steering Q.

For the last couple days my steering has gotten stiff after driving for about a half hour. So I have been doing some searching and read that the pump sense my speed and other things from the speedo cable. Not sure on how all that works, but ironicaly my speedo stopped working the same day I this happened. I have not replaced my cable yet but think I may have to. Is this my issue? I have an 88TII.

the power steering needs the speedo to work on all 86-88 models.

If your speedo does not work, neither will the power steering.
