differences between s4 and s5 water pump/thermostat housing?

differences between s4 and s5 water pump/thermostat housing?
I see there are two separate FC thermostats, one with an o-ring and one without. How can I tell which year my water pump is?

All I can tell ya is that my S4 t-stat doesn't have the o-ring...Hope that helps a little...
