Difference in S4 S5 motors

I recently got a Turbo II and it has a "new engine" with about 30k on it. Its supposed to be a S5 that the guy put in the 88 and I wanted to see what it actually is. How can you tell the difference in the S4 and S5? Right now the engine bay is pretty much stripped down to the engine block.

I'll answer, even though this is everywhere.

Rotors are machined to be lighter w/ higher compression (8.7->9.0 in turbos, 9.4->9.7 in NAs
Engine internals are hardened better/more (enabling higher revs)

good thing that doesnt explain how to see the difference
really let him search and learn
he didnt even attempt, it is sad and pathetic
it floods the forum with the same old same old questions and not the new ones that would actually help people
i will give him a hint
you have to check a certain part on the engine for a S4 engine with S5 top swap
that certain part of the engine could help you determine if its a s4 or s5 engine
now search!!!

loved that post!

Totally functional search key that was Sweeet!

Ok now that I am done busting a gut laughin easiset is to look at the OMP down by the waterpump, (use slpin 's serch button if you don't know what a OMP is) and see if its electrical, or mechanical. s4=mechanical pump s5=electrical pump. now that could have been swapped if he did a lazy man swap, but I doubt it as its fairly easy to transfer the whole shitpile at once if you are going to do it.

Oh and slipn sending you a magic search button is a hell of a lot nicer than some of the crabby ***** on the forum, so next time to avoid getting them upset use the button..

That's what I am talking about

Instead of the use the search function ****, it would've been easier to explain it and get it over with.

there is much more to a motor than its stock performance in a race. ^^

Well if THAT wasnt the most WORTHLESS post EVER!

Who cares? HE cares you jackass. If you dont have anything positive to contribute, DONT TYPE ANYTHING you MORON!

Im sorry...but these @$$holes on this forum that would rather post all this bull**** rather than just answer a simple freakin question baffles me!

The OMP would be a quick and easy way to tell as another member suggested.
