Difference bewteen S4 and S5, and turbo and turbo II?

I don't own an FC yet, but I plan on buying one this summer. I'm 17 and plan on working fulltime this summer to buy my FC. I would just like to know the difference between the S4 and S5. And between the turbo and turbo II.

There is no "Turbo," only a Turbo II, unless you count the first gen turbo as the "Turbo." Regardless, there is no second gen "Turbo."

A simple search will give you the S4 (86-88) and S5 (89-91) differences.

RX-7 Turbo = 84-85 1st Gen sold in Japan only (12A Turbo)

RX-7 Turbo II = 86-91 2nd Gen (13B Turbo)

For more info see the FAQ sticky at the top of the page.

Incorrect the 1991 Turbo model FC is not named Turbo II nor does it have the logo "Turbo II" on the side. Just some useless trivian.

the s5 turbo2 had more power basically due to light rotors but it weighs more and costs more. in my opinion i woud get a 88 turbo2 unless you were gonna spend big bucks for tuning options then i would get he s5 turbo2 because of all the electronis tuning **** you can get for it. lates matt22

The nice thing about the late '88's is that is has a few of the S5 improvements. It has the high impodence injectors, the more visually appealing idiot lights, one fellow even reported that his has the taillight area already recessed for S5 tails.

IMHO, the S5 isn't worth the bother. The extra weight and mouse belts don't quite make up the 20hp stock difference, though I'm sure a lot of guys here would disagree.
