Diff mounts?
I have been having a hell of a time trying to get the old diff mounts out of the case. The service manual says to drill out the rubber, which i have done, and then hammer the old ones out. Mine will not even budge. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you end up getting them out? Thanks Skyler

If you're talking about the mounts for the diff carrier, my way was pretty ghetto... I drilled out the rubber mounts, so that i could take the metal insert out. Then i shaved at the rubber until you can see where the sleeves are supposed to separate (the metal sleeves are 2 pieces). Then I took a chisel and a hammer and went to town to get the sleeve off. I then replaced with the MMR mounts, which went in without any drama. If you are using these mounts you may want to lube them up a little before you try to put them in to make it go smoother. I think I have pics i can post up if you want, let me know. Good luck! It was a hell of a time for me =(

I break Diff mounts

A big socket and a 5lb hammer.
Then a pipe with one end flattened to hit the outer ring with the hammer.
Once you get the initial 20year old rubber bite undone they start to work out pretty easily.
The center doesn't have to be drilled out first. The one below just came out because it was torn and old.
Hit this metal ring on opposing sides while working different angles and it will start to push out.
The first one took me like 20 minutes to get out. The second one was 5.
Here are my pretty replacements. MMR solid

I forgot what style bushing it is.
I used a chisel, hammer and vise. I just went side to side and hit the metal lip at the top and the bushing and it came out real nice. No torch, no press. That is how I did my subframe and rear control arm bushings
Here is a pic of my subframe bushing i took out. I threw away my diff ones already

It takes a lot of force to get the old ones out, that's for sure. For the new ones (I've got the Mazda Comp ones) I wrapped them in hose clamps to compress them at first so they'll start easier, then hammered/squeezed them in with a big vice.
