Did the TurboII model (1987) ever come in gold color...?
I was wondering if the 1987 TurboII model ever came in the gold color...? I've never seen one before in that color and upon first thought I'm thinking it's a conversion...? Thanks for any responses.
I just don't think gold was very popular of a color, that's probably why it wasn't made as an option for the turbo, who know's though i could be wrong.
Usually any kind of info on colors cars came in would be in the top in the sticky thread showing what our cars came with stock from the factory, the info could be there if you really need to find it
Yes. I own this one. There's pictures on both pages(better on 2nd page)

You never see deals like that, and if you do it's gone before you know it
wow are you serious ? if you ever wanna sell it , ill take her off your hands haha. i currently have no rx7, i am planning on rebuilding a turbo s4 motor then finding a shell to put it in, currently driving a 1998 nissan 200sx seR 5 speed (2.0 litre), it gets good gas mileage, and isnt that bad powerwise but it's not an rx7.

You lucked out, i bought my first rx7 for 1000 and it was a base model non turbo, had blown coolant seals, needed a rebuild, had bad wiring harness and didnt get spark.
I put a bunch of upgrades in it, got the engine rebuild and then the engine blew the coolant seals again for unknown reasons after 25,000 miles....i think it's because i overheated it (not that badly) a few times intially after installing the engine, couldn't find the cause till after i overheated it a few times , it was a bad clutch fan.
Electric fan is definitely the way to go, clutch fans are nice, but if they go out without you knowing it, it can be very bad for your motor when it overheats.

I have the JM1FC332 vin # making it an authentic turbo car and where the vin # is posted on the firewall it has 1A above it, which according to FAQ is the paint code for satin gold metallic. It seems like gold isn't a very popular rx-7 color, much less the TII model. I'm curious how many were made. I know my buddy I bought it from said there wasn't very many.
Not sure on the actual production number as Mazda didn't keep many records of color production it seems. Typically only on special models. But its one of my favorite colors on the FC and its a pretty uncommon color. I believe the color is called Satin Gold Metallic and is color code 1A.

It's been a few years since I looked into it (back when I still had my car). I don't recall exactly how/where I searched but I want to say I counted less than 10. (not to be confused with actual production numbers, just my findings)
There aren't many around in that color. There may only be 10 that have been posted on the forum in the last few years. I suspect that Sunrise Red was likely the most popular color for the TII when it was released.
I know I have only seen one other for sale, it was a higher mile one out of Kansas a couple years ago for 3500, was pissed to miss that one.
I always wonder if the rarity will help or hurt the value. I honestly used to HATE it.
the red certainly has to be the most common followed black would be a safe bet.

I actually have a liking to that gold for some reason. I've grown close to my white one and the gold one here. I would agree though, that Sunrise red is probably the most popular color/widely available Turbo II. My first FC (S4 GXL) was Sunrise red as well.
