Did stock T2s Have a Blow Off Valve

I just took my car for a test drive and I definately heard a B.O.V. I was just wondering if tIIs came with them stock.

But a bypass valve isn't exactly the same thing as a BOV.

The functionality of a piston and a rotor are the same too but only one of them is found in a stock RX-7 engine.

ok................................................ .................................................. .................

what would you call a bov wtih a flange vented back to the TID then?

would it still be called a bov or air bypass valve?

Why would you bypass the bov to the tid? Its supposed to bypass to the afm.

also FYI the Mazda FSM lists the function of the Function of the Air Bypass Valve as "Reduces sound of intake air from turbocharger relieved through air flow meter during deceleration". I don't think a BOV reduces the sound and it certainly doesnt make the air go through the afm. So actually the Function is not the same afterall. page 4B-6

Why don't u guys ever look up anything in the manual or use the Search function? This forum is a lot behind some of the other car forums where people usually do this first before asking questions. Do you guys just ask questions so the moderators can answer or something? I dont get it.

Are only the moderators supposed to respond to technical questions? I read a lot of this forum before I posted anything and it didnt seem this way.

here is your answer then....

not all BOVs have to vent to the atmosphere, that is why they make recirculation kits for them and some people vent the stock 'bypass valve' to the atmosphere..

end of story!
