Did slightly modified FCD

Just finished installing home-made FCD (original how-to by Paul Stoaks). According to his how-to, the FCD connector has all four wires (12V, 5V, Ground, Signal). When I disconnected mine ('92 TII) I only found 3!! (5V, Ground, Signal), so I had to take the 12V from somewhere else. Now I dont actually get 12V but 13,5V when the engine starts. Could this prove to be a problem, or am I OK ???

This should not be a problem. The 12V is used in this circuit as a noise clamp and power for the IC, and therefore should not affect the circuit at all. The reference in this circuit is Vref, 5V supplied by the ECU, which will also not be affected. Go for it!
