did a search, still wondering . .
I just put on a Racing Beat header / presilencer on my 87 n/a FC. Did some radiator hose replacements, too, got it back together, tried to start, it almost fired, kind of popped and died. So I turned it over again, and the starter sounded like it was stuck. So I thought the battery was low or the starter solenoid was bad and just kept clicking the starter and the motor eventually turned over kind of slowly.
It almost started, but I thought it was probably flooded at that point so I unflooded it, first with just pulling the EGI fuse and turning over w/ the throttle open, then by taking off the top spark plugs and doing it again. Replaced the fuse and it started. But . . . .
It is only running on the back rotor. Number one is not firing. It has spark (checked with my timing light), fuel (smell it on the plugs), but no compression. I injected some motor oil into the housing and tried a compression check, it is like 0-0-30psi.
My guess is that:
1. A seal broke, side seal possibly
2. Just need to prime the rotor housing again with atf?
Anyone have any ideas? Don't want to rebuild it, had it only a month. It has 129K miles BTW, I have only put 1000 on it with regular driving, not too hard, not like a grandma.
Thanks in advance if anyone can chime in with ideas.

Yep, I think so too. I was in love with this RX7, everything was great. I think the seal got stuck somehow, causing the motor to not want to turn over. Now I have to keep driving that slow 88 Integra. AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!
Well, this will give me a chance to put in a lightweight flywheel, street port, better clutch, and just get the compression way up on both rotors again. I rebuilt the 1.6 DOHC in the Integra, so this will be a fun challenge. But I need a carport!!! No more all-nighters working in a parking space . . time to get a better apartment.
