Definitely burning oil...

... on startup and only on startup.

It only happens when I start it up until the engine is warmed up. After that, there is no trace of smoke at all. I can drive it slow (REAL SLOW) and it will warm up and all, but if I drive it too hard too fast, it will blow a lot, lot, lot of smoke.

Any comments, questions, suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

it's probably not too healthy to be driving too hard before the engine gets warm regardless of the smoke, but yeah ... what color is the smoke? how often do you have to put oil in it?

I have the same problem..Not as bad at startup..But when I get into it .By that I mean over 5k..It still doesn't smoke..But when I decelerate, by that I mean let off of the gas it blows Hella Bluish white smoke...Just for a few seconds then it stops...My engine has about 100,000 miles on it but it still feels strong..Just the smoke on the deceleration thing that worries me..And yes it does us a good bit of oil...

the oil rings around the rotors probably have not expanded enough yet (because they're not up to optimal temperature) and then let oil into the combustion chamber ...

just one more reason why you probably need to keep out of deep throttle when the motor is cold ...

even when brand new they smoked for a couple secs at startup. but shouldn't happen the whole warmup. is your car turbo? it could be the turbo seals. other wise the oil rings in the engine.

your oil control rings are shot. it'll be rebuild time sooner or later.

I was looking at guitarman68's car and it almost like its flooding its self with oil when its cold. after about a minute it burns clean..... Anyone have any suggestions... I believe the motor was rebuilt recently as well. I took it for a drive and it pulls strong and the ports open nicely, exhaust clean... Just the first minute or so of throttlew time that's the issue.
