definately a bad idea

ya so i found out the car that im getting has a messed up fuel pump,should i just go get 3 used ones for 5 bux each(just in case one dosent work?)

Um, yes? 3 pumps for $5 is a good deal even if only one works.

What makes you think the fuel pump in the car is bad?

huh...

well as long as its pumping with good pressure it'll be fine - but I'd certianly pick up a spare as by the sounds of it, its on its last legs.

If it were me I'd get a new one though.....you might be in the same boat 2 weeks from now with a used one....

A hissing sound could be many things. Vacuum leak, fuel leak, etc.

ya im assuming a fuel leak...im brining tons of fule line..BTW does anyone know the size of the fuel line of the stock 88na fuel pump?
and by bad idea..i meant buying a used one

he has a walboro in it

Take the fuel feed line off at the fuel pump access panel. Turn the key on and turn the car over and look back to see if fuel is pumping.

Maybe the hissing you're hearing is the Walboro running? They are kinda loud.

Fairly sure the fuel line is 3/8".
