Defi gauges...

Running cheap Autometers right now... Are the Defi Ds more accurate and worth the price?

They are more accurate, but not worth the price tag imo. I happen to own the link set for defi also. I bought them for the sole purpose of play back and warning features. I believe its more of a style deal vs autometer.

They do have a real nice piggy-back set up, and the "Heads Up Display(HUD)" ROCKS!

why do you need to be that accurate? There are too many variables to worry about 3' from your water temp or .5 psi from a boost gauge. If you like the look, which match the lit FC interior, then pick them up. Function isnt worth the extra price.
THey really do look a hell of a lot better!

Watch it with their boost gauges.
A customer of mine had one of those and it was showing +5psi with nothing connected to it?!?!?
I've heard this is not uncommon...

For "cheap", I would recommend VDO.

soooo, what's the difference between the AM and defi? both are mechanical, right? why not go with autometer? cost less and still accurate enough..

If you want a nice accurate boost gauge, then Apexi and Greddy are the only ways to go IMO. Autometer isn't that bad though.

i have a mechanical greddy boost gauge i got for 80 bucks and it works great.

however it reads in kg/cm^2 which 1=14.22psi... so its a little different to look at.

Not really going for too cheap, around $150 per gauge is what iam willing to pay for.
So you say VDO is good for its price Ted? My boy runs a VDO boost in his 240.
