Dealer Modified Sunfroof

My 1990 gtu has a larger glass sunroof. I was told about some rx7's being dealer modified and it has a decal inside the door from mazda saying dealer modification with the numbers. Is there anyway to check the numbers?

I can take some pictures for you. My sunroof doesnt work, one of the tracks is broken. The sunroof motor I think is larger than others because they had the headliner taken down where it was because it wouldnt fit. seems like it was pretty easy to do.

As far as I know the custom dealer installed sunroofs were only done on the GTUs since every other car already had a sunroof.

In 1989 and 1990 the sunroof was optional on the GTU model only.

In 1991 it was again optional or part of a package in the "coupe."

The only other FC in my town is a super-clean white S5 GTU with no sunroof. And the kid is still dirving it on Wisconsin's salty winter roads (saw him yesterday).

I wanna get rid of my rx7. I dont even know what model it is. I believe its a gtu. No power windows, power steering any of that. But somebody put a power window kit in with speaker wire so i took it all out and have the power window kit if anybody wants for free. But I need a daily driver now not a project.

Seriously, the kit might be worth a little to someone that wants to waste the time to install one. However, if I were an owner of a coupe without a sunroof, I'd consider myself lucky.

Exclamation

I dont even know. Whatever sounds like a good offer i guess. its missing some interior pieces. Seats are good, carpet is good, dash is descent. electric seatbelts dont work but because of the recall can be fixed at any dealer 100% free. 176,000 miles. black with black interior.

There are places that can add aftermarket moonroofs into any car. I casually looked into it for someone else a while back and I believe to have it done in a normal car will cost around $1000.

Yes, glass is heavier than the normal metal ones, but looks so much nicer when in the car, I have glass in both m yS4 and S5, love it!

take a piture and measure it, but I am sure you have the aftermarket glass roof that replaces the stock metal one which is no bigger then the factory metal roof
