1: what the hell Do you drive in the first place?
2: Do you have rims to rep[lace those? since you do need rims.
3: S5 bumper is better looking IMO than S4. I've owned both TII's.

i have 215/45/17's on it now. I drive an s4 GXL. will the 205/60/15's be better for say an autoX event. (thats about the only reason i could see to keep them.
i'll have to look for some comparison pics to see the diff in s4/s5 bumpers.

he says he has an S4, " my S4"

I would imagine he has other rims if he is referring to the one that might be traded as "my stock rims"

I think both bumbers look fine, though thats a personal prefereance so to each his own.

i don't know how easy it would be to swap the bumpers, let me see if i can find out, actually now that I think about it, the front are gonna be different, cause body kits are specific for S4's and S5's for the front fascia....at least in my experience..

I'd keep the 17's, though if their nice you might wanna keep the stockers for beating on or just to preserve your nice rims too.....

Take care and drive safe

You mentioned "lose the stock rims." Does this guy want your stock GXL rims or the 17's?

If the 17" wheels and tires are something that you like and are still in good shape I wouldn't trade him at all. S5 bumpers are much better looking to me but not worth aftermarket wheels and tires (depending on what they and condition of course).

If he want's your stock GXL rims, trade him.

The swap is easy.

thnx guys. i think i will trade him my stock rims with new but crappy rubber, for the bumpers.

even though the fascia is different i dont see it taking too much to make it work.

anyone know where i might be able to see s4 vs s5 side by side. other than the "pics of your fc3s" sticky. (thats a lot of pages, but i spose it shall work) unless someone has a car domain page thingy that has lots of pics i've never seen before.lol

I think the main difference is where the front bumper meets the fenders, I think this is the case, though it might be different than how i understood, it. I have only owned S4's...

The difference may be more underneath, like mounting and how it attaches, where it attaches rather than how it looks from the outside..

no difference in the two series except for the moulding design and that the s4's have a little rubber thing in between the bumper and fender, which can be take out regardless.

Oh.

I was under the impression that the front bumpers were slightly different in the way they mated to the fenders. Now that I'm thinking about it, I believe I was mixing up the AWR E-Production fenders, I was discussing with them a while ago about fitting the fenders with stock bumber, they said the fenders were made for their front bumber but would work with stock bumper with some modifcation.

However, I do recall that when I bought my bodykit, the front bumper was marked for an 86-88 RX7 which is the S4 right? Is anyone else able to confirm whether the stock S5 front bumber will swap right in place of stock S4 front bumper??

they do mate the the fenders fine, however keep in mind your side molding trim will not match the s5 bumper trims!! ( they look a bit different)

however its a good deal anyway, as the s5 bumpers are worth more then the crapy stock wheels

it's all right there.

The only reason body kits may be marked by series is due to the types of front parking lights used/needed and the body molding style. Other than half bumpers that only work on S5 front ends the body parts are 100% swappable.

I've swapped S5 to S4 a number of times and S4 to S5 once (don't ask). There is no question on fitment.

yeah i guess the bumper to fender part isn't that complicated huh? it looks like a straight edge in those pics. haha, I think I'll finally take off my bumber to mount my fog lights, for some reason i could not mount them how i needed to with the bumber cover on...
