Dead Headlight Motor Relays: Can I Use Generic Replacements? How To Wire?
Dead Headlight Motor Relays: Can I Use Generic Replacements? How To Wire?
One of my headlight motor relay's got water in it, and is fried.
I'm wondering if I can just go buy new relays from a parts shop and wire them up? Instead of looking around for 20 year old nippondenso relays..
What relay would I need and how would I wire it up?
Also is there a writeup anywhere of how to do the headlight relay mod? (for brighter lights)
Thanks, Bryan

As far as I know, there are no write ups.
I don't have the wiring diagram handy but my guess is that there are no generic replacements. You can check the wiring diagram in the FSM and see if you can emulate the relay via wiring up a few generic relays but you're kind of on your own at that point.
A suitable replacement is probably available inexpensively used while you work out how to wire up generic relays.
