Dash lights / Warning cluster

My clock died last week. I purchased a used cluster for dirt cheap. However it has a few extra lights, AIRBAG being one of them which my car didn't have.

Will it still function as it should or should I try and fix the poor solder joint on my existing warning cluster?

Thanks,
M

If you have the correct idiot light cluster in your car already and the clock doesn't work correctly, then just fix it by desoldering, cleaning, and resoldering the contacts. Trying to retrofit an idiot cluster from a convertible into a coupe (which I can only assume you are getting ready to attempt at this point given what little info you provide) is more headache than its worth, IMHO.

Edit:
Oh and BTW, a "used...dirt cheap" idiot light cluster will likely have the exact same problems as your current cluster is having, no matter what year of car it's from. Remember the "youngest" one is roughly 26 years old by now. After you fix the one from your car, I recommend doing the same treatment to the other one and re-selling (or better yet re-gifting) it to somebody else in need.

I did this once, you can actually disassemble and swap the inserts and make sure the bulbs are in the right spots. just take the idiot light display panel sheet out of the old one and put in the new one if you follow me, but as mention b4 it most likely has the same problem, it would be better to re solder the joints - thats what I did and my clock works great.
