Tell me what year.
I can tell you there is 3-4 bolts on the top under that vent. 2 on each side of the dash. 1 on each side of the transmission cover. The engine latch has a nut behind the pull cable. and I think that is it.

I just did this about a month ago. The FSM has a great diagram of where all the bolts are with pictures. On an S4, there is one (8mm head) holding the defrost vents in place that has tobe removed so you can get to the 3 (10mm head) bolts under that panel. You need to pop off the side panels to get access to the 2 (10mm head) bolts/side on the sides (You need to remove the panel without the vent before the one with the vent). Then there are 2 (10mm head) bolts holding the dash to the tranny cover. There are also 2 (12mm head I think) bolts holding the stearing column to the dash that need to be taken out.
Don't forget to unplug the dash harness before you try to pull the dash out. There is 2 plugs that need to be pulled on the drivers side and one on the passnager side (I think it's only the 3).
Assuming you have taken off all the other easily removable dash panels and other items that are obviously in the way you should be able to get it off without too much trouble.

on my s4 t2 i had to take out a whole bunch of random screws that were so ****** hard to get to... like most impossible... took me and a friend pretty long liken theres some screws behind the gauge cluster on the bevel that i had to remove and the vents were in the way and like u couldn't get vent out because a screw was way at the top, under the dash... and o and the screws behind the main vent that goes to your face in the middle. theres 2 screws that i don't even know how ur supppsed to get to... no idea... it holds the vent on so u cant pull the dash without those 2 screws.

you will end up breaking something. usually the long ac vents, most likely broken already, will usually end up in a million pieces if not removed carefully. its best to have to people but you can do it yourself. you dont need to take off the radio and radio surround with vents. and you dont need to take off the idiot lights with bezel.
