Let me be the first to say the 1986-1988 center dash pieces are really gayly put together. Now, I know the S5's are a bit better put together. Does anyone know if the S5 centerpiece goes right into an S4 dash??

 

Yes, it fits perfectly with a tiny bit of work. If you get one off ebay or a member make sure it has the vent insert as well.

You might need to modify the metal carriage for an aftermarket headunit. I had to file off some excess metal because the S5 surround is a little thicker. And the light the plugs into the ashtray doesn't really fit anymore, but who really cares?

 

ya, i just bought my rx7 and it has no center dash at all , so i have to go and find one, or do you guys know any place that would sell them, or would i be best off looking at ebay?

 

You could try the junkyard, but chances are its already stripped.

 

That, and the ashtray needs a little work to make it pop up when pressed. The S5 bezel is slightly thicker all around, but all around better. My S4 surround actually exploded when someone ran into the back of my car. Just use a file or some sandpaper and things will work out for you.
