Is it that dangerous to drive with bad rear spindle?
I notice on the freeway when Im up past 60 my car pulls right, and then when I let off the gas it pulls left. Well, I got 2 new back tires yesterday the guy said my rear spindle was bad, it wobbles pretty good, I tryed tightened all the bolts but it appears the rubber is bad. I have to drive to NC from here in 4 days, its an 8 hour haul. Will my spindle get any worse, or will it just stay the same? I dont want anything blowing up on me on the freeway. Thanks
Did you see the wobble? Can you move the top of the wheel with the tire on the ground? Have you ever seen a car sitting by the side of the road with a wheel broken off? Sounds like a very bad rear wheel bearing. It should be making some serious noise if it's that bad. And I wouldn't even attempt an 8 hour trip if that's the situation.

the spindle is one of the strongest pieces of metal in the car, i know because when i hit a mercury cougar with my subaru the police officer was in awe that i bent the crap out of the cougars spindle.
