It's a small square box probably around the size of a dime. It has a small metal ring part to bolt onto something....

It's for the oil pressure sensor.

It's used for somethign like smoothing out EMI or something like that. That way your oil sensor reads correctly.

It's not absolutely needed but is recommened since all you have to do it screw it onto something like your bell housing or slave cylinder.

I'm lazy and never redid mine when I pulled my tranny. No adverse affects so far.
