Question Found Dangling Wire By Oil Pres. Send Unit, Question?

1990 FC3C, I have been having some electrical issues lately, so I am cleaning grounds, checking fuses, and find a wire bare, by the oil pressure sending unit. It has a spade tip connection coming out of loom, and the color is orange with red stripes. From stretching it
to farthest location, all I can see it could go to is Oil Pressure sending unit. It is same color,
and from what I could decifer from electrical diagrams, it seems that condensor is same color. Any ideas out there?

I pulled the connectors apart, and the loose wire end is the female end , if that might help at all.

what about the wire on the oil press sending unit--is that attached? may sound silly but it has been done before. the plug you describe sounds just the one that is used there too. You should have a single wire attached to a blade terminal on the oil pressure sender. If you start the car and there is no oil pressure reading on the guage, then that is where it goes.

Yes, the oil pressure unit plug is on it, but the male end of the connector is orange/red, and the wire coming from the female end is black. The connectors, I called them spade , the female end does look almost identical to oil units connector, but there is a wire coming off this one. Might be nothing, but I gotta check. I'm in the process of hooking battery back up, so I will check for voltage, and post back. Thanks so far.

OK, now, with the key off, nothing, but with key on, that baby is hot , 12.4 volts. So I am researching a little more. Looks on diagram of condensor having same color wire in close proximity. We'll see.

Yellow with a spade connector would be your coolant temp gauge, it's located on the block just on the inside of the pressure sensor towards the rear rotor.

Thanks for the help RaT, but the coolant temp gauge wire is on, and I am going to look again, cause you said yellow, but Im sure it's orange / red. I don't think its the Intake Air
Thermosensor, but I'm gonna check that also. Getting dark, but will post in a few .

Yeah, it's yellow with red rings if I remember properly, it's been a while since I actually saw it. Can't think of what else it might be though, got a picture of it?

I too have noticed a female spade connector, but mine was actually connected to the top of the oil pressure sending unit

Well, All is connected, Thermosensor, Oil Pres. Send Unit, Coolant Sensor, I will take a picture if I can get flash on. Dark here now, but you might be right in color. It sure looks like a faded orange, but might be yellow. But all sensors are up and running. Lets see what I can do.

Thank God for car alarms. 4:30 this morning, some SOB tripped it and I saw the bastard running away. Going to sleep lightly with Smith & Wesson tonight. I can't stand thiefs.

OK< one last check to see if maybe anyone else knows. Definetly wire is yellow red, one wire with same color goes to oil presure sending unit-unit has a nipple on end, connector slips over the nipple, doesn't plug. Other wire right next to it, same color, has female end for a spade tip connector. I have the male end in hand, but no idea where it goes. FSM electrical diagram, from what I can decipher, it goes to condensor. Make sense, can't find condensor anywhere. Thanks again!

The black square in shape condenser is usually located near/on the clutch slave cylinder. Don't see it? It got tossed then.

Hailers, can you direct me to a photo. What you are saying, what I am reading in the FSM, and what I am seeing is about the same as left and down. Not doubting you, just does not make any sense at all.
