Damned seat belt light

Well the seat belt light won't go off when the car is off. Its weird. I can sit in the car with the turbo timer on and wait for the car to turn off. No light. Get out and shut the door and the damn light comes on. The only way to get it off is to put the key in the ignition and turn it to like ACC or whatever. The light is a little dim, but is still on now. Please don't tell me I need to resolder my ECU or something. Any ideas?

Will it turn off if you reconnect the seatbelt after you get out? It might be a cheap, easy fix, but a pain in the a$$.

Remove the bulb from the back of your instrument cluster. You don't need it, now do you?

Nope I don't need it. But won't it still drain the battery?

Oh and I tried connecting the seat belt but it didn't do anything.
