Stange Ticking Noise

Ahh I would do a search for this but I have no clue what to search for...Here is my problem.
The other day my car got flooded, I did the manual unflooding technique of removing the EGI fuse and cranking it, I did it 10 times it started an ran it for about 10 minutes. I had drove it once in between now and last Wednesday for about 10 minutes and shut it down fine. Today when I was going to start it agin to drive it around my neighboorhood(doesnt have plates yet so I cant take it too far) I turned the key to on to set up my CD player and I heard a very fast ticking noise. I turned the key to ACC and it went away. I then started the car and listened for it, no ticking sound. So I turned the key back to ON, and I am absolutly sure the ticking sound wasnt there before I unflooded it, so with the key on ON I removed the egi fuse and it went off, put back in the fuse and it started to tick again. The ticking comes from either this red sensor/plug located right next to the oil fill tube on the right hand side, or the blue one below it. They both vibrate slightly and make that ticking sound, but it might just be one or the other because they are so close. I don't know what the red and blue sensor/plugs are called so it is hard for me to be very specific and my Hayes manual doesnt have a picture of it that I can find BTW it startes and rives fine it just does that ticking noice when thge key is selected on ON.......Could this ticking noise be something to do with the unflooding procedure? If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. The engine is a 89 Turbo II, Jap Spec is that makes a difference......thnks in advance.

Could this ticking noise be my starter? Would the cranking for 15~20 seconds with the EGI fuse removed 10 times when I was unflooding it make the ticking noise??

I was going to say maybe your wires are arcing, start the car @ night and see if you see any arcing from the wires.

Could be a lifter tick................

j/k (had to say it, hehe)

He has a good point. It could be something arcing that is totally unrelated or directly related to the un-flooding procedure.

remember, the oil fill tube is right above the spark plugs too. Could be arcing from a plug wire that wore through or something if it isn't routed away from the fender well or something.

Keep up posted.

Haha you wont believe this on checking out the body of the car today I noticed that their are spots on the car where the paint seems to be just disapearing like the clearcoat is there but the black is fading, the spots are on the corners and edges of the doors, the hatch and the door handles. I guess the last place to paint the car did a sh!tty job. I heard Mazda had defective paint. Whats the deal with this?????????

I think I know what the ticking is coming from, would it be the knock sensor? Or it might be the Turbo Boost pressure control duty solenoid valve....ahh the Haynes book doesn't go into detail!!!!!! See I know what is ticking I just don't know what it is called....Damn thing only does it when it is on ON. I just don't want to say oh well and run the car and a few thousand miles later it breaks down on me.

The ticking is with the engine off but the key on. At least thats what I read. Next time you hear it, reach over and pull the bac's plug off. I think the ticking will stop. Not to worry.

I have a S5 Turbo II. Ticking is normal for me, from the turbo boost duty solenoid valve. It has been doing it for as long as I can remember and my car runs just fine.
