Damn TB Mod, Yes I've searched and search, help me quik before RX across the Texas

okay I just did the TB mod while I had the intake manifold off and everything went fine except when I got my car started my idle rose up to 3k rpms for the first 30 secs or so (didn't do it before) then fell down to about 1500k and was jumping in between 1400-1600, vrmm vrmm vrmm vrmm ect...I'm thinking the throttle plates are sticking open somehow, but I am confused....please help!!!!

P.S. I've tried reseting the TPS, and idle and no effect...

vaccume leak maybe? Check every thing. Re-calibrate the TPS don't just jumper the connector.

did you re-adjust your throttle cable? maybe it is sticking on something. CHeck all the linkages. But this still sounds like a big vac leak or the TPS

take the fast idle thing out. Block it off and throw it away.

i thought that just involved removing the secondary plates on the TB. I did not know that. have you checked the BAC? or is that gone too?

TB mod includeds removing the fast idle cam and coolent passages through the TB, as well as the 2ndary plates plates, when I say I have reset the Idle I mean I have reset, BAC, Varible Resitor, TPS, and checked for vac leaks....

you probbaly need to screw in the throttle stop screw on the top. that will close the plates more. a 1500 rpm idle is pretty normal after doing the TB mod. now you just need to lower it. 2 ways are that screw and the BAC.

although it should be a pretty steady high idle I think... you might have a vac leak..

I'm doing the TB mod right now so I won't know off hand what happens till it starts up tomorrow

there is a 2nd screw on the bottom too.... might try to take the TB off and loosen that one up if you can't see anything else wrong.

could be the upper intake manifold not tightened down or the gasket, also the TID usually has cracks in it

did you use a new gasket? also all the nuts and bolts are back on the upper intake manifold (four nuts one long bolt).

How is the power? Is it all still there?
