damn idiot lights....

ok, the seatbelt idiot light keeps randomly comming on for a second along with a beep. it took me a while to figure out exactly which light it was.

if anyone has had this same problem or if anyone has any ideas, i would love to hear anything that "might" help. this is the most annoying problem next to my exhaust leak.

There are some plugs under the seats that have to do with the light. Maybe one of them is coming loose once in a while? If that's not it then it could be a problem with the idiot light cluster.

i really wish i could help...i have the same problem. as well as my e-brake light hardly coming on ever. and my security system doesn't always arm. plus my clock doesn't always work it keeps the time though. the old man is almost making me bring the car to the dealer because as confident as he is in his automotive and my ability he doesn't like messing with electrical things. also my factory speakers go out all the time now too but not the subs or the amp...i don't think its related but ya never know. i REALLY don't want to bring my car to the dealer so if anyone has any ideas please help me and jeff_oner out too these problems are very frustrating and i would rather fix it myself. i heard of the cpu and the idiot lights resoldering but it looks dangerous. i don't want to mess anything up. any one out there can help us out?

I think that K2RD, http://www.k2rd.com is still fixing them. Check out http://www.k2rd.com/Online_Catalog/E...vice-index.htm .

Do a search under 'seat belt light' - there is a great post showing how to dissasemble the retractor where the switch is located - wiring under seat is for handbrake switch.

Hiya... yah the problem with the clock can easily be fixed.. a buddy of mine who is on the forum fixes that stuff all the time.. maybe hell post some pictures if he see's this.. but anyhow... The soldering on the rx7 clocks is pretty lousy from the factory and some of these connections come loose... if you take out the clock, and resolder the wires it will work perfectly again...

Hey, regarding intermittent working clock. Same problem here. Angry at the unit and got one from the junk yard and it comes up with the same problem. One week later, dummy here has a bad battery. New battery and the clock(s) both work fine. I susoect the clock is very sensitive to low voltage fluctuations. Don't trash the assembly until you check the battery.
