If you already ran and replaced the oil twice since doing that I'm sure you'll be fine. It's not like you ran it in there for a full 2,000 miles or anything. Is the car still acting normal? I personally think that you'll be ok seeing as you caught your mistake right as it happened.

don't worry about it.

i find it more common now than ever since people are just lazy ****** tards. every time i go into the auto parts store i have to double check what i am buying because people like to play musical bottles and just cause the rack sais 10W-30 doesn't mean it is going to be filled with 10W-30... makes me want to punch someone.

Always check the bottles before you buy them, Most oil bottles are often in the same color bottle, with the same color top, with a very similar label. Meaning, not only do you mistake it for oil, but whoever put it their did also most likeley it was a customer that thought they wanted it and changed their mind and put it in the first spot they saw that had a similar bottle in it.

Would you rather pay an inflated price for different bottles? or a cheaper price for the same bottles and just check the labels?

I for one would rather pay less and check lables.

I sometimes ran just with atf,

not to mention the times I put MMO and other random fluids into the spark plug holes, loves it.

actually manual gearboxes can be run on ATF, my S-10 pickup muncie 5 speed(japanese version) recommends straight ATF and that is what i have in it now, however it doesn't like it when i tow vehicles since the ATF is such a light fluid it has lower friction protection properties.

i actually ran 1 part ATF to 2 parts of 80W-90 in my TII tranny up until yesterday, had no issues with that setup either.

... the old gen Subaru guys use ATF in the oil to help clean years of sludge out of the crankcase.

You're fine. It's not like you were running it with all ATF. If anything, it helped clean the insides of the crankcase (eccentric case?) a bit.

gas sloshes around, the sensor is old, the gauge is old and probably innaccurate, you might have been on an incline. its pretty normal for it to do weird stuff. i know mine shows only 3/4 of a tank right after i fill it up and only fills up 12 gallons when on 'E'.

actually, if you read the rx7(rotary performance) website, it actually recommends putting atf in your engine to help fight flooding.
www.rx7.com
plus, my friend did it in his lummina, all 5 quarts, and drove for a week(he's special)

yup. works well as an engine flush / cleaner for piston motors. No idea about a rotary, but used it many times on piston motors.
