Leading and trailing reversed?

Hi ladies and gents, i have a 90 fc, carbed..., to be specific...

mikuni 44 sidedraft
rb manifold (for older 6 port)
lower intake manifold from older 6 port motor (the ports are smaller... a lot smaller) (gotta straighten that out)
stock motor (no porting what so ever..)
(most sensor missing tps, maf, yada yada yada...)
running stock FC ignition... (i dont think the timing adjust...)
stock exhaust manifold
rb "down pipe"
rb presilencer
cheapo weldo ypipe to muffler (one muffler broke off... the other day, had to pull it off in middle of the streets)
running premix

ok my question is....

my car runs alright with the TRAILING coil and wires going to the LEADING plugs on the motor and the LEADING coil and wires going to the TRAILING plugs...

basically the wires are on backwards.

but when i reverse them to so they are at the right place at the right time... the car dont start!... does anyone have any clue as to why this is happening, i am guessing i am losing a lot of power because of this reason alone... my car is pretty slow right now.

i am picking up a dizzy setup from a someone later on, but i am curious as to how my car is actually running decently with it set up like this.

Thanks, the search bar didnt help me on this one.....

-Ray..

maybe leading coil is bad and the only spark you are getting is from trailing? Did you check the spark from the leading coil pack?

i have discovered that my ******* leading is dead, no spark what so ever....

so.. does that mean that my car doesnt make power because of this? lol

i will be replacing the whole unit with msd and dizzy soon. hopefully it will work out. and maybe in the future if i get a good leading pack, ill just do a hybrid like them 1st gen ppl.

You should be able to pick up a coil pretty cheap in the for sale section.
