Cutting Speed wire on JDM ECU?

Since the cluster uses a cable for the speed..

if I were to cut the Speed signal on my JDM ecu rather than using a SLD would it be the same thing? or will the ecu Complain?

N374 ECU btw

Take the instrument cluster out, and on the back you'll find a screw with "180" marked beside it. Remove the screw and the speedo will no longer send a 180km/h signal to the ECU, hence disabling the speed limiter.

Will this work for a A-spec car using a Jspec ECU?, if not, what would be a remedy for this situation?

I was thinking, If the usdm cluster doesnt have that 180 marked bolt on the back, then there will be no speed limiter using a JDM ecu right?

Yes. That's correct. If the screw isn't there then your set already.
