WA cutting my lowering springs

Hey guys.
So I want to cut my lowering springs I have gf210. Its more of and experiment to see if its better then stock cut or if all cut springs suck more then me wanting to be low.but it will hold me over for a little till coilovers. If these are your only springs... Then don't cut them, man. Experiment with some other springs.

if your car isnt low enough save until you can buy coilovers. dont cut them you will regret it. leave cut springs to 16 year olds in mitsi vr4s and nissan cefiros and skylines.

Yeah I have another set of stock ones.
And yeah stock ones suck so much because you cut so much to make it low.
Has anyone cut lowering springs before and know if its still ****? Lol
**** figures I'm 16 haha...

hahaha classic. can you not get them compressed instead. you will need to shorten your shocks too. which means you might as well wait and just buy coilovers. and yes the ride will be horrible

cutting springs will give you an uneven ride height, uneven tire wear, faster wear on struts, and flaming out the ***. just don't do it. you will just be adding to the stereotypical high school ricer

Lotta people talking crap that don't know what they are talking about.

Cutting springs can be done, and work fine. The key is using that formula and doing it right. The free coil portion of the formula is where most people screw up. It doesn't mean the whole length of what you have left. It is the number of coils that are free to move once the spring is installed. Once compressed, look at where the spring starts to lift off the previous coil. From that spot add about a 1/4 coil to each end of what you con't as coils that have air on both sides of the wire.

There are ways to get the height you want with the rate you want if it is close to what you started with. You can increase spring rate by 'removing' a coil from the equation by filling the gap. I once took small sections of coil that I cut off and used them to fill a coil gap for about a 1/4 coil(taking more than a whole coil out of the equation) and holding them in with a bunch of hose clamps. It was a temporary test on a race car, the rate and height worked out and I bought a set to do the job later.

The people that don't think it can be done don't hang around people that are smart enough to do it right.

Yea I'm giving 2nd gen owners a bad name... I've seen a lot more retarded things done to a 2nd gen.
If I do it I'm going to do it right. Stop flaming **** flame on the dude with integ like or something I know I've seen it. It'll only be for a week or so until my coilovers come. I really just wanna se if it ride better then my friends stock ones.
